What has happened to the BBC Good Food app? ›

So we can keep investing in more of the recipes and cooking inspiration you value most, we've moved the app to a subscription-only package. ​​As a subscriber, you'll enjoy all of the new features and benefits as well as exclusive recipes and meal plans every month.

You must pay for your App subscription via Google Play or the Apple App Store before you can access the App content.

We have 1000s of tried and tested recipes for free on www.goodfood.com. Our premium Good Food app offers a wider range of recipes, along with exclusive content that is only available to subscribers.

You may cancel your Goodfood Account or any of your subscription plan (weekly or monthly) at any time by contacting our Member Happiness team either via our live chat, by email (chef@makegoodfood.ca). Our operating hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM EST or Saturday & Sunday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM EST.

BBC Food is not related to the monthly magazine and media brand BBC Good Food, which was acquired by Immediate Media Company in 2018.

Last spring, the company announced it was cutting production and staff, including Scott and co-founder James Davison. By September, the new executive team was trying to sell the business to stave off collapse. Those efforts failed, and in late February, the company closed.

Goodfood was established in 2014 by Jonathan Ferrari and Neil Cuggy, two former investment banking analysts at RBC Capital Markets, under the original name Culiniste. They were soon joined by Raffi Krikorian. The service grew in popularity and began enrolling hundreds of subscribers per week.

Do I have to order every week? No, you can easily skip a week anytime! Simply visit the "Weekly deliveries" page in the member section of the website and click "Skip Week" on the week you would like to pause your delivery. It's just as easy to unskip a week if you change your mind.

On 5 September 2019, Discovery announced that Good Food would merge with Food Network and close on 12 September 2019, with its programmes moving to the sister channel.

After May 1, 2024, the Food Network Kitchen app will no longer be available. However, you can still find delicious recipes, watch thousands of on-demand cooking classes from your favorite Food Network chefs, and more all for free on FoodNetwork.com!

On April 28, 2023, the Receiver assigned The Very Good Food Company Inc. into bankruptcy. The First Meeting of Creditors occurred via Microsoft Teams on May 19, 2023, at 10:00am PDT. On June 10, 2024, BDO Canada Limited was discharged as Trustee in the bankruptcy.
