This is so silly and I'm trying to not let it bother me but my daughter acts like she favors her dad. When I get home she'll smile for a second, but when my husband hands her to me she'll immediately start crying. When I put her down thinking she wants to walk she'll go right over to him and hold her hands up asking him to pick her up. On the other hand when I'm with her and her dad comes home she beams. She'll cuddle with him more and walk over to tackle him with a hug or put her head on him. She'll snuggle a little with me when I get her up in the morning or put her to bed at night, but it's only for a few minutes before she starts to fidget.
I know it's natural and I would never say something to my husband, but it makes me sad. I think he notices and feels bad, but neither of us have addressed it with each other. I feel like it's because she spends more time with him because of my commute, he's the one that does daycare drop off/pick up and spends an extra 30-60 minutes with her depending on when he gets out of work and with traffic for me. It was my worst fear with this job and it sucks that I see it happening already. I'm really trying to find another job closer to home (I've been applying for years but always bomb the interview) and doing my best not to get discouraged, it's just really hard. Is anyone else in the same boat? Are you doing anything like quality time or a specific activity the two of you do together? Or is this just a phase I have to ride through?

I promise you it's about the time. My husband teaches and is home in the summer. I work night shift and have been working overtime since he's home with the kids. she LOVES him and tolerates me🤣 During the school year, it's the exact opposite. He coaches high school football, so my schedule will go back to normal and she will be back to being stuck to me like Velcro in a few short weeks. This is our 4th, and it's been this way for each of them!

My daughter is an absolute dada’s girl right now and has been for the last few months. I know it’s a phase and I let it happen. We talk about how she prefers him and I’m okay with it! I know time will come where she will likely want me. I spend most of my time with our daughter driving to and from daycare, with her an hour before he gets home from work, and have summers off with her (I’m a teacher). The minute my husband walks in, she wants him and all his attention!! She loves us both! Although she is partial to her dad when he is around!

I have two older girls. My first has wanted her dad since the second she was born. He worked nights and some weekends so I spent more time with her and that didn’t seem to matter. Still 1000% a daddy’s girl no matter how much time I spend or do for her. The second one…. I thought she was going to be stuck up my butt until she left for college. Still think she may never want to move out. Up until the last year or so (she’s 11 now) she’s started to give me the “ew mom don’t hug me” and wanting more alone time. I think they were just born that way �� and this baby is a boy and he is alllll about me.

I have a little boy and I spend most of my time with him, but when daddy’s around, he clearly favors him. I love the bond between them, but I definitely get a little envious sometimes!

I stay home with our son and my husband works remote so still sees our son quite a bit. My son adores his dad, dad is the fun guy always getting him to laugh. Lately though when dad tries to hold him he koala bears me and won’t let go lol. I think it’s pretty normal at this age for them to show a little preference.
