The bug, known as RDSEED, can produce incorrect results up to 10% of the time, compromising the security of systems that rely on these random numbers. It's like the processor is rolling dice, but sometimes it just doesn't feel like it, and that's a problem!
This bug affects a wide range of AMD processors, including the EPYC 9005 Series, Ryzen 9000, and Ryzen AI models, to name a few. However, there's a silver lining: the 64-bit version of RDSEED remains unaffected and can be used as a temporary fix.
AMD is already rolling out updates to address this issue. The patch for the EPYC 9005 Series is already available, and other processors will receive updates soon.
